The Sell Core Team is responsible for the development of Zendesk Sell - a Sales Automation Software, with the use of an internal microservice architecture.


As an Engineering Manager in the Sell Core Team, you will lead initiatives that improve the quality of the product by optimizing existing components, tuning performance, solving customer-reported issues, and automating work processes. Your contributions will have an impact on the flawless product, Zendesk Sell, from day one. You will collaborate closely with team members and other engineers at Zendesk to successfully implement common goals and vision, fostering lasting relationships and continuous learning.


What you'll be doing:
  • Collaborate closely with teams across the globe, with the majority of the team based in Pune or with equivalent experience.


  • Grow and mature the team, enabling them to take ownership of the codebase and undertake end-to-end projects.


  • Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle, including liaising with leadership to ensure roadmap execution.


  • Supervise successful progression of projects through production stages in our continuous integration environment, up to deployment.


  • Engage in regular and open one-on-one meetings with your team members.


  • Provide regular feedback to your team members in a caring and direct manner.


  • Help your team members set specific, achievable goals that will further their careers and bring them to the next level.


What would you bring to the team?


  • Proven experience in people management, with a track record of coaching and mentoring individual contributors


  • A passion for fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture


  • Experience leading SCRUM/Agile delivery teams


  • Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams


  • Prior experience in a SaaS company


  • Experience with some technologies from our tech stack (see below).


Our Tech Stack


  • Our backend code is written in Ruby 3, Rails 7 and Ruby ecosystem


  • Our data is stored on Aurora, Elasticsearch, Redis, DynamoDB, S3, and is queued or streamed through RabbitMQ and Kafka.


  • Our workloads run on Kubernetes clusters hosted on AWS. We use various AWS services.
