Good Business Lab is an independent, non-profit labor innovation and research company. We use rigorous academic research to prove that worker wellbeing programs have business impacts. Additionally, we develop market-ready, scalable products capable of providing dual benefits to workers and businesses. Our goal is to disrupt the traditional notion of business and show that worker well-being can be a part of core business strategy, or in other words, a good business practice.


The founders of the GBL are Ach Adhvaryu – Professor of Economics, Director of 21st Century India Center, School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego, Anant Ahuja – Head of Organization Development at Shahi Exports Pvt. Ltd. (India’s largest Ready Made Garment firm), and Anant Nyshadham – Assistant Professor of Business Economics and Public Policy at the University of Michigan. 


Length of Commitment: Full Time


Location:  Bengaluru


Salary: 6-7 lacs per annum (depending on experience)


Start Date: 15th May 2024


Role Summary


The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in frontend development principles, possess a problem-solving mindset, and demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and implement the technologies used in our product development. This role focuses on enhancing user interfaces and integrating functionalities to improve user interactions with our products.


Qualifications & Experience


 (The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role):


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Understanding of Frontend Fundamentals: Well-versed in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Expertise in State Management: Proficiency with popular state management libraries (Redux, Recoil, Zustand).
  • Version Control Systems: Experience with Git and GitHub or similar systems.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a robust problem-solving approach and an eagerness to address complex challenges and learn continually.
  • TypeScript Familiarity: Basic understanding of TypeScript is beneficial.
  • Experience: <1year

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain Web Applications: Design, build, and maintain high-quality web applications using React, ensuring the implementation of precise front-end logic.
  • Utilize Frontend Technologies: Apply comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript to create dynamic and interactive web applications.
  • Implement PHP with CodeIgniter: Where necessary, use PHP and the CodeIgniter framework to enhance application functionalities and backend integrations.
  • Manage Application State: Effectively implement and optimize state management using libraries such as Recoil, Redux, or Zustand to ensure smooth and responsive application behavior.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with backend developers, UI/UX designers, and product managers to ensure the cohesiveness and quality of our projects.
  • Participate in Code Reviews: Actively contribute to peer code reviews to maintain high coding standards and learn best practices.
  • Integrate AWS Services: Utilize AWS services like CloudFront and S3 to develop applications that are scalable and robust, enhancing application delivery and security.
