As an Investment Risk & Analytics - Sr. Associate within the Wealth Management (WM) Investment Risk & Analytics (IR&A) team, you will be responsible for the risk oversight of the Managed Strategies across the WM’s Private Bank and Consumer Bank businesses. Wealth Management (WM) Investment Risk & Analytics (IR&A) is responsible for the risk oversight of the Managed Strategies from end to end across the WM’s Private Bank and Consumer Bank businesses. Managed Strategies included JPMorgan’s own proprietary products and third-party funds to include registered funds, exchange traded notes (ETNs), exchange traded funds (ETFs), separately managed accounts, hedge funds, and private equity and real estate funds, etc. We are looking for individuals who can partner with senior members of our team to oversee business activities, models and methodologies related to investment risk. with an emphasis on developing new tools that will aid in risk quantification.


Job responsibilities:


  • Develop new methodologies/ models to further strengthen Risk’s inputs to Investment decisions
  • Partner with other non-credit Risk groups to identify and understand simultaneous impact of multiple risks like product, fiduciary, counterparty, concentration, ESG/ climate, liquidity and their interplay on one account
  • Use your knowledge of Statistics, Mathematics and techniques like AI/ML to provide further insights into current and potential risks for portfolios
  • Research and enhance methodologies to identify outliers through measures like sensitivity and stress testing
  • Leverage knowledge of stochastic calculus, algorithms to develop and study Scenarios for potential markets events and their impact on portfolio
  • Focus on innovation and development of new tools to better explain high risk areas in the portfolio
  • Partner with Model Governance, Business and technology to maintain and ensure quality control of Model Documentation including but not restricted to user tools, intelligent solutions and qualitative models. 
  • Represent Risk in working groups and/or meetings and review key risk issues, as appropriate 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in quantitative field like Finance, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or similar fields.
  • Have at least 5 years experience in Financial Services with demonstrated usage of Quantitative techniques, Predictive modeling, Econometrics, Data Science, AI/ML techniques
  • Are analytically inclined, with strong knowledge of languages like Python, R and data visualization tools (ex. Tableau)
  • Have experience with investment products including fixed income, equity, and mutual funds 
  • Have an understanding of Risk domain and stripes like Market, Credit, Investment, valuation or model risk
  • Will use your knowledge to find answers to pressing problems and create workable solutions and at the same time demonstrate willingness to take on responsibilities that may lay outside your area of expertise.
