Job Description

Wolters Kluwer is looking for a manager who will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of the Rainier application using ServiceNow platform. Working within our Engineering team and collaborating closely with our customers, technical project managers, and other key stakeholder teams, the person will be responsible for all aspects of delivery on key projects and initiatives in GBS. In addition to providing leadership to the engineering group, the manager will play a key role in shaping the careers of a passionate bunch of go getters.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with key stakeholders within the organization to understand and build the ServiceNow platform roadmap. Understand the cross-functional teams needs to successfully deliver on system design for business requirements.
  • Work across the GBS organizations and be responsible for requirements, solution architecture, quality assurance and production support.
  • Work with the Business Analysts to create Use Cases, Design artifacts, Development according to ServiceNow standards.
  • Design, develop and deploy technical ServiceNow components such as: business rules, client scripts, UI policies and actions, UI pages and macros, script includes, catalog items, workflows, web services, reports.
  • Experience with working or developing in the following programming languages: HTML 5, CSS3, Angulas JS, JavaScript, Client and Server-side Scripting, ServiceNow API's, Web Services.
  • Experience administering, configuring, developing, and customizing ServiceNow and related integrations.
  • Ensure that SLAs are being met for services.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching associates in various aspects including technology and adoption of technology.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, processes and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain competence in current and planned versions of products.
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives by working across technical teams to enhance the systems, processes and controls to ensure effective development, monitoring, and support is in place.
  • Have strong ability to trouble shoot problems and suggest solutions.
  • Work with developers and assist them with technical issues and perform design and code reviews.

Education


  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, MBA or related field.

Must-Have Skills


  • Experience in working with Project and Program Management, Systems Design and Delivery, Quality Assurance, Production Support and Infrastructure.
  • ServiceNow CIS IT Service Management Certified and ServiceNow Admin certified. Understands and has experience with ServiceNow ITIL framework.
  • Experience in cloud environment such as AWS/Azure. Certification in AWS and Azure is required.
  • Experience with integration to third party tools via REST API, OOB ServiceNow Connectors.
  • Experience using standard frameworks like (not exhaustive and can change as new frameworks emerge and are used) JavaScript, GlideScript, HTML, CSS and Angular JS, JIRA, Database (SQL, Data Modeling), SOA etc.
  • Proficiency with HTML, JavaScript-Angular JS, XML, AJAX, Jelly, CSS, SOAP, REST.
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow components such as Service Catalog, Change/Incident/Problem Management, Asset Management, PPM, Discovery, Knowledge, CMDB.
  • Demonstrated experience with applications servers, development tools, build tools and configuration management practices.
  • Experience in working with database (utilizing any of the RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, MySQL or SQL Server) and involvement in data modeling and design of database.
  • Experience in SQL and performance tuning of the same.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively express complex technical concepts.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience including presentations to senior management, peer groups and associates.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct an analysis of business needs, including scheduling meetings, planning agendas, conferring with business line leaders, documenting and making verbal and written presentations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of systems and application technologies.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications: 


  • Understand SDLC phases. Experience using one or more of Waterfall, Agile, Lean, and DevOps practices.
  • Prior experience as an Architect for a SaaS platform/BMC Remedy/ServiceNow is preferable.

  • Able to articulate complex engineering challenges to fellow managers, engineers and partner teams.
