RF Performance Test Engineer

Role Summary

As a RF Performance Test Engineer you will join the Radio Development team and will be responsible for the RF performance of the radios ensuring they comply with the customer requirements and 3GPP and other RF standards both in conducted and OTA test methodologies. This position will be based in Bengaluru, India

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and define RF performance testing including detail test activities and test scope, test plans, and development/test environment and establishing quality metrics and other key performance indicators for those test cases
• Execute the define RF test cases and work with radio HW design and architecture teams to analyze failures and provide feedback for design improvements
• Generate test progress reports and KPI’s to track testing progress
• Develop and/or use third party tools and scripts for creating an automated RF Performance testing  environment
• Contribute to the review of HW/SW Interface specifications with emphasis on testability support for RF performance testing
• Work with Radio HW/SW integration and validation teams to ensure test capability of the unit as needed to ensure the radio product program meets schedules
• Should be willing to travel to customer lab, type approval lab, production lab, etc. as the need arises

Job Requirements

• Proven track record in Base Station Radio RF Performance testing
• Very good understanding and knowledge of 4G or 5G radio design and radio software functions
• Should be able to interpret 3GPP, Regulatory(FCC/ETSI), System and Radio level specification to derive requirements and test steps for RF and PHY Performance level testing
• Experience with Test automation preferably with RF layer test instruments such as spectrum analyser, signal generator, Network Analyzers, etc.
• Familiarity with 3GPP Specifications and Conformance Test Specifications related to Radio Unit ((specifically 3GPP 36/37/38.104 and 36/37/38.141 specifications)
• Excellent inter-personal and leadership skills

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts.

Qualification:

• Minimum BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
• At least 7+ years’ experience in telecommunication industry in similar roles.
