Data Security Senior Engineer 

As a large global organization incorporating manufacturing, engineering, and software development, Aptiv has a significant unstructured data footprint which we must govern and protect in line with compliance requirements driven by industry, regulatory, legislative and customer standards. This includes high value data categories such as intellectual property, personal and customer data.

The role of the Data Security Senior Engineer, as a member of the Aptiv Enterprise Data Security team,is to perform engineering activities such as designing, configuring, and integrating data protection capabilities,and managing protection controls on our Cybersecurity platforms supporting processes such as Data Discovery, Data Classification, Data Loss Prevention and Data Encryption.

Aptiv Enterprise Data Securitywill partner with Aptiv data owners and stewards, corporate and business teams, as part of a cross functional global Data Governance and Management effort, to discover, categorize and protect Aptiv data, aligned with its criticality, sensitivity and regulations.

Your Role

• Lead the ongoing development, configuration, integrations and administration of data protection controls and policies on Aptiv Cybersecurity technologiesonemail, cloud, devices, and network.

  
  

• Drive continuous improvements to monitor & protect Aptiv data, aligned with identified risks and relevant compliance requirements.

  
  

• Proactively monitor output of data protection technologies to ensure effective operations and configuration of controls.

  
  

• Lead the delivery of Aptiv’sData Loss Prevention services, leveragingcapabilities such as Data Classifications to enable preventative measures where possible.

  
  

• Collaborate with the Cyber Operations & SOC teams to develop high accuracy true positive policies for data loss, exfiltration, insider risk for effective detection and response processes.

  
  

• Partner closely with Aptiv stakeholders to develop security controls that meet requirements driven by business and regulatory requirements e.g. Discovery & Classification, Data Encryption, Rights Management, Data Exfiltration and DLP

  
  

• Ensure standard operating procedures and configuration managementdocuments are maintainedfor our Cyber Data Protection solutions.

  
  

• Partner withother Enterprise Cyber Engineering teammembers on research, evaluation, selection, and implementation of cyber technologiesto deliver data protection controls.

  
  

• Develop and report on data protection metrics; identify trends, make recommendations for improvements and collaborate with relevant teams to operationalise improvements.

  
  

Your Background

The successful candidate will be an overall effective leader, with a collaborative mindset, who can work independently as well as part of cross functionalteams.

• 8+ years in a technical Cybersecurity or Information Technology related role

  
  

• At least 5 years hands on experience in designing, implementing, and managing Cyber or IT technologies.

  
  

• Direct experience with data protection technologies supporting controls like DLP, Data Encryption, Rights Management, Data Classification on domainslike email, applications, cloud, or devices.

  
  

• Hands on experience with Data Protectioncapabilities in platforms such as Microsoft Office365, ProofPoint, Palo Alto, Google for Business a significant advantage

  
  

• Experience engagingand collaborating with stakeholder groups(e.g. legal, privacy, engineering), identifying critical data and sources, determining security requirements and scoping changes.

  
  

• Effective multi-tasker in a fast-paced environment

  
  

• Good understanding on cybersecurity & IT controls and concepts in at least 1 of the following:Email Security, Identity Access Management, Device Security, IT Risk Management, Threat Management, Cloud Application Security

  
  

• Programming skills would be beneficiale.g.PowerShell.

  
  

• Relevant industry or platform certifications would be beneficial e.g.CISSP, CompTIA, Microsoft Certified Professionalor advanced Microsoft certifications.
