Job Description

Objectives of the Position         


  • Lead Aroma Ingredients business in India, hence be responsible for the overall financial performance of the GBU to achieve agreed targets regarding net sales, contribution margin, fixed costs and other KPIs.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the growth strategy for India in collaboration with the Global and Regional team.
  • To demonstrate professional leadership of employees, motivation and coaching of teams.
  • Responsible for recruiting, retaining & developing employees and create a high-performance team.

Main Tasks


1. Business development and customer management


  • Plan, lead and carry out sales activities to achieve sales targets by visiting and calling existing or prospective customers to understand and identify their needs to create a long-term customer supplier relationship.
  • To develop lasting customer relationships to identify business trends in for long term growth
  • Develop proposal on sales and marketing to customers and ensure account strategy are exploited consistently.
  • To identify and attract new customers, pursue new applications, leading to profitable future business.
  • Maintain direct contact with customers’ key personnel and work with customers and internal functions to resolve problems/ expedite matters.

2. Support for sales forecasting and planning


  • Maintain up to date awareness of industry trends, technical development, market activities and industry intelligence to help define the marketability of products and report to supervisor identified trend that could affect targets.
  • Provide accurate APO and financial forecast to allow for proper panning.

3. Leadership


  • Lead a team towards achieving the organizational targets as well develop the talents for the organization
  • Create a well defined “Individual development plan” & succession plan for the team

4. Distributor management


  • To develop, expand and strengthen the channel to market thereby ensuring profitable growth of the distributor business and achieving business result as per plan.
  • Review distribution set-up for continuous growth & tackle changing market dynamics with relevant distribution set up.

5. Regulatory & product launch 


  • Participate with product launch team to ensure smooth introduction of the product in customer serving processes
  •  Collaborate with relevant party/agency to ensure proper license to operate for the Aroma Ingredients business.

6. Product Promotion


  •  Execute sales presentations/ workshop/ trade road show/ workshops to promote/ introduce products/services

7. Market intelligence


  • Collect data to update, maintain and evaluate market trends, the application of products/technology, the service needs, intelligence on competitors, etc in order to support identifying new business opportunities.
  • Prepare market research project to develop competitor grid and benchmarking analyses on competitors; positioning and the performance of their competitive products.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. Masters Preferred.
  • Working Experience: 10 years in relevant industry / field.
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: Good Business Acumen, food industry experience and proficiency in English skill.
