SEO Writer

The Content Marketing Team is looking for an SEO Writer to write and edit SEO-focused content for startups and small-to-medium businesses building technical businesses. This role will write and edit a range of web content to ensure content is optimized for SEO and improve the SEO rankings for business-critical keywords. This role is ideal for someone with a proven background in technical SEO writing and a deep understanding of SEO best practices. Extremely strong English language and grammar skills are required. 

• Writing new content, such as webpages and blog articles, designed to rank for critical SEO keywords. 
• Editing content written by others to optimize for SEO, including adding backlinks, ensuring proper heading and metadata structure, etc. 
• Conducting keyword research and using SEO tools to ensure maximum visibility of content in search rankings.  
• Partnering closely with the SEO Team to track the performance of articles and report on the results of SEO optimization work. 
• Establishing a process to regularly update old content to improve rankings. 

• 2-4 years minimum, of job related experience in an SEO Writing or SEO-focused role, with a demonstrated record of improving the SEO rankings of content. 
• Experience implementing both on-page and off-page SEO best practices. 
• Very strong writing and editing skills with excellent knowledge of the English language and grammar. Experience with AP style is a plus. 
• Experience with SEO tools such as SEMRush, SurferSEO, and related tools. 
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once and work cross-functionally to ensure deadlines are met. 
• Experience working with both technical SEO teams and editorial/writing teams. 
• Nice-to-have: Experience writing content and ranking for topics in the cloud computing and developer space.
