Job Description


Position Overview: The Service Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to customers by ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of products or equipment. This position requires a strong technical background, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service abilities.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Installation and Commissioning: Install and set up equipment or systems at customer sites according to specifications and requirements, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
  2. Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues promptly and effectively, implementing solutions to restore functionality.
  3. Customer Support: Provide technical assistance and support to customers via phone, email, or on-site visits, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering guidance on product usage and maintenance procedures.
  4. Training and Documentation: Conduct training sessions for customers or end-users to educate them on equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and safety protocols. Create and maintain documentation such as manuals, guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
  5. Field Service Coordination: Coordinate service activities, scheduling appointments, and dispatching technicians to customer locations as needed. Ensure timely response to service requests and effective resolution of issues.
  6. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements in all service activities. Conduct quality checks, inspections, and tests to verify equipment functionality and performance.
  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, and product development to address customer needs, provide feedback on product performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  8. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, work orders, and customer communication. Provide regular updates and reports to management on service operations, performance metrics, and customer feedback.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of atleast 5 years in a similar role, preferably in the field of technical support or service engineering.
  • Strong technical skills with expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment or systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required and work flexible hours when needed.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools, diagnostic instruments, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in equipment installation and maintenance.
