Reports To: Mechanical Maintenance Manager / Chief Engineer

As a Shift Engineer Mechanical, you will take charge of overseeing the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of a variety of mechanical systems, including chillers, compressors, cooling towers, Air Handling Units (AHU), air conditioning (AC) systems, Nitrogen storage units, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) systems, cranes, fans, pumps, motors, and Low Tension/High Tension (LT/HT) Diesel Generators (DG). You will play a key role in ensuring that all mechanical operations are performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

1. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
   

   
   
   • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems such as chillers, compressors, and cooling towers.
     
   • Ensure the optimal operation and maintenance of AHU, AC systems, and Nitrogen storage units.
     
   • Oversee the functioning and maintenance of cranes, fans, pumps, and motors.
     
   • Manage the maintenance of LT/HT DG and ensure they are functioning efficiently.
     

2. Safety and Compliance:
   

   
   
   • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
     
   • Ensure compliance with all relevant mechanical codes, standards, and regulations.
     
   • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation measures.
     

3. Team Leadership and Management:
   

   
   
   • Lead and supervise a team of mechanical technicians and mechanics during shifts.
     
   • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in mechanical maintenance.
     

4. Emergency Response and Problem-Solving:
   

   
   
   • Respond promptly to mechanical emergencies or unexpected breakdowns.
     
   • Develop and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of mechanical systems.
     

5. Documentation and Record Keeping:
   

   
   
   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.
     
   • Generate reports on mechanical issues and the status of equipment for review by management.
     

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  

• Proven experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, specifically with the systems and equipment listed.
  

• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment maintenance.
  
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  
• Familiarity with safety standards and mechanical regulations.
  
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  

• Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends.
  
• Physical ability to work in industrial settings, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
