Software Development Director

As part of the Oracle SaaS Cloud Security Engineering organization, this leader will be responsible for building a brand-new engineering team responsible for security tooling, automation & integrations based out of the India Development Center. This new team will collaborate very closely with their peer engineering teams and assist in accelerating a number of critical initiatives in the areas of ICAP service, Leverage AI/ML in Security detections, and the adoption and onboarding of SaaS applications onto the Security Incidents and Events Management platform. This leader is expected to be well-versed in a variety of topics including Security, DevOps, Automation, and Engineering. 

Your Opportunity: As we embark on scaling our capabilities to secure our industry-leading SaaS applications,  you have a major role to play in this exciting journey by being an engineering leader on the team at our India Development Center. You have the opportunity to lead and manage a cross-functional team to design, build, deploy and operate a wide variety of capabilities including AI/ML, Scanning tools, and apply automation best practices to make our processes repeatable and resilient. You have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest talent and cross-functional org including Engineering leaders, TPMs, Product Managers and Customers.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working on cloud-scale distributed systems
• At least 5+ years experience in managing & leading large teams , working on distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java, Python and Golang
• Experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols
• Familiarity with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, object storage, identity, security, software-defined networking, etc
• Strong knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes to build and deploy using Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.
• Experience with production operations, on-call support, and good practices for putting quality code in production and troubleshoot issues when they arise
• Comfort with communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, and presentations) to different stakeholders
• Experience dealing with and managing stakeholders like product managers, program managers, senior management and customers
