About the role


As an OpenText CMS Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to clients and internal teams using the OpenText Content Management System (CMS). You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure the smooth operation of the CMS platform. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, expertise in OpenText CMS, and excellent communication abilities.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide technical support and assistance to clients and internal teams using the OpenText CMS platform via various communication channels such as email, phone, chat, or ticketing system.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to OpenText CMS installations, configurations, customizations, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with clients, developers, and third-party vendors to understand and resolve complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis of recurring issues, identify patterns, and implement preventive measures to enhance system reliability and stability.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and implement optimizations to improve the performance and scalability of the OpenText CMS platform.
  • Provide guidance and best practices to clients and internal teams on the usage, configuration, and customization of the OpenText CMS platform.
  • Document technical solutions, troubleshooting steps, and knowledge base articles to facilitate knowledge sharing and self-service support.
  • Stay updated with the latest OpenText CMS releases, patches, and enhancements, and assist in planning and executing upgrade/migration projects.
  • Collaborate with development teams to test and validate customizations, extensions, and integrations with the OpenText CMS platform.
  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to higher-level support or development teams, follow up on escalated cases, and ensure timely resolution.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Proven experience working with OpenText CMS (formerly known as OpenText Web Experience Management or WEM) in a technical support or system administration role.
  • Strong understanding of OpenText CMS architecture, components, modules, and configurations.
  • Proficiency in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with server administration and web hosting environments (Windows Server, Apache, Tomcat).
  • Experience with PHP, Java, Python, and or Objective-C programming languages are preferred. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
  • Certification in OpenText CMS administration is a plus.
