Position Description: 



The purpose of the Manager role is to provide technical leadership, people leadership and strategic direction to team members within the Global Learning Content Development team at LCCI. 



The GLCS team consists of a dedicated group of learning professionals responsible for enhancing the learning experiences for Lilly learners globally. This team partners with learning professionals globally to design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning content.  This position reports to the Associate Director of LCCI Global Learning Content Development.



Key Objectives/Deliverables:



Leadership/Supervision:



  • Leads a team of instructional designers and content developers.


  • Responsible for employee lifecycle management (e.g., recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, career development, annual compensation reviews)


  • Embraces Lilly’s culture, organizational structure, roles, and practices, including strong knowledge of how team fits into bigger picture of the US Affiliate as well as the broader Lilly organization.


  • Knows and reinforces Lilly’s learning strategy, design and development processes, content development tools and resources.


  • Thinks as a “partner” in the business and ensures that team delivers on expectations (on time, high quality, business value, risk mitigation, cost optimization and return on investment).


  • Partners to ensure capacity and workload management can meet business demands.


  • Enhances the capabilities of the team through effective recruiting, training, coaching and development.


  • Demonstrates knowledge of systems, software, tools, and supervisor resources.


  • Exhibits knowledge of healthcare environment and regulated industry practices.


  • Has a thorough understanding of Lilly's Quality processes and must be capable of understanding and applying these processes and requirements when executing their role.




  • Support evaluation of new technologies, techniques, and tools.


  • Partners with Global Learning and Development teams to evolve the L&D organization



Ensures quality, speed, value,and compliance throughout the content development process:



  • Follows basic project management principles when leading projects.


  • Identifies improvement opportunities and remove barriers.


  • Manages capacity plan and resourcing for the team in partnership with the GLCS Operations Manager. 


  • Advocate initiatives for continuous improvement and ideas for positive disruption.


  • Champions and holds team accountable for Lilly policies and procedures.


  • Demonstrates ability to partner effectively across functions by cultivating a strong network of cross-functional colleagues.


  • Facilitates shared learning forums to identify challenges and establish best practices across the team.



Coach, manage and develop a team of creative problem solvers:



  • Identifies, recruit and select top talent.


  • Coaches and develops team learning and development competence and experience in managing the careers of learning professionals.


  • Embraces and champions change and innovation.


  • Demonstrates ability to handle and appropriately escalate when issues arise.


  • Uses situational leadership to adapt leadership style for everyone.


  • Monitors employee engagement and team health.




  • Manages new-hire onboarding process.


  • Utilizes Workday process to operationalize organizational goals for team members.


  • Utilizes Lilly Coaching Framework.


  • Partners with direct reports to create individual development plan/action plan by identifying appropriate training needs for people mangers and individual contributors.


  • Serves as trusted career advisor and works with HR to identify career opportunities as appropriate.


  • Conducts effective one-on-one coaching sessions using the Lilly coaching framework by encouraging two-way dialogue and open feedback, listening actively, being flexible, and identifying knowledge, skill and performance gaps.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Education 


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) 



Experience:



  • 8-10years’ experience as learning professional in regulated environment. 


  • Experience with content authoring tools, such as Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Camtasia, WalkMe.


  • Demonstrated skills in strategic thinking, leadership, and proactive strategic learning and development consultation.


  • Experience implementing learning interventions to meet accessibility requirements (such as WCAG).


  • Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, judgment and managing ambiguity for effective results in complex, resource-constrained situations.


  • Ability and willingness to challenge business leadership regarding ways to use learning interventions to meet business requirements most effectively.


  • Experience with Microsoft tools, including SharePoint, Teams and Forms.




Education Requirements: 



  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, communication, learning and development or a related field.  



Language Requirements:



  • Written and verbal English proficiency.
