The HR Global Data Management department, under the direction of the HR/EX Chief Data Officer, owns data management, data programs, reporting and advanced analytics related to the workforce data for the 314,000+ employees of JPMorgan Chase.  The HR Global Data Management department is responsible for the management of workforce data including the data governance, data classification, data quality, data protection and data storage to help ensure appropriateness and data integrity across all uses of workforce data.


The Data Management VP – Protection and Storage is responsible for driving delivery of Employee Experience Organizations Data Protection and Data Storage risk stripes aligned to the overall implementation of the Firmwide Data Management (FDM) Policies and Standards.  The candidate will lead efforts in developing data management framework, role based access controls and strategic solutions for all of workforce.   They will work closely with EX’s Data Management and Data Platform lead, the Firmwide Data Management group, Workforce Technology teams, Cybersecurity & Technology Controls teams and Employee Experience Business Controls teams to advance the firm’s data management agenda.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Data Protection/Roles Based Access Control – establish the model for EX.  Lead the build-out and maintenance in partnership with Data Owners and technology.
  • Data Protection/Tech Data Controls – establish model for governance and oversight working with CTC and Technology.
  • Data Storage/Localization – managing local guidance for data controls related to storage and access
  • Data Storage/Resiliency – overseeing the ability to return to operations from a data perspective
  • Problem Detection and Resolution – continuously identifying problems, impediments, and risks; prioritize and resolve in a timely manner; monitor and communicate the problem resolution status; and implement process improvements to prevent them from occurring again.
  • Continuous Improvement (Product, Process, People) - continuously improve the quality, effectiveness, and value of the product, the process, and the team
  • Dependency management and coordination when managing multiple projects that impact multiple products
  • Partnership with CTC ISM to manage the data risks managed by Technology

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:


  • 8+ years of financial services experience in operational risk, controls, data/risk management, identity & access management and roles based access controls preferred
  • Proven ability to analyze large volumes of data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Knowledge of technology data controls for protection and storage of applications.
  • Knowledge of unstructured data controls
  • Experience in implementing/operationalizing an end user access control model
  • Proven ability to develop strategies and solution roadmaps with a risk-based approach to prioritization and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:


  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and processes preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in GIAM tooling:  CPA, MyAccess, RSAM
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Advance Excel and PowerPoint skills required
  • Proven ability to develop strategies and solution roadmaps with a risk-based approach to prioritization and problem solving
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment preferred
  • Proven ability to coordinate across functional teams, IT professionals, and other key stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building skills, demonstrated consultative approach and proven skill in influencing others
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, exceptional PowerPoint skills required
