Job Purpose:

The Commissioning Lead-Mechanical/Piping will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning activities related to mechanical and piping systems for the BP_ROO_EPCM project in Basra, Iraq. The individual will ensure that all systems are properly tested, commissioned, and handed over to the client in accordance with project requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement commissioning plans for mechanical and piping systems.
• Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure that systems are installed and tested in accordance with project specifications.
• Conduct pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including system walk-downs, leak tests, and functional testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during commissioning.
• Ensure that all commissioning activities are completed on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support to the client during the handover process.
• Supervise and coordinate commissioning activities on-site, including overseeing contractors and subcontractors.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure that all commissioning activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations.
• Manage the commissioning schedule and ensure that all milestones are met.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, such as electrical and instrumentation, to ensure the successful integration of mechanical and piping systems.
• Provide training and guidance to junior commissioning team members.
• Participate in meetings with clients and project stakeholders to provide updates on commissioning activities.
• Document all commissioning activities and prepare reports for project management.
• Assist in the resolution of any technical issues that arise during commissioning.
• Support the startup and performance testing of mechanical and piping systems.
• Ensure that all commissioning activities are completed to the satisfaction of the client and in accordance with project requirements.

Skills:

• Strong background in mechanical and piping systems
• Proven experience in FEED, design, onshore, and brownfield projects
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in commissioning mechanical and piping systems
• Previous experience working on EPCM projects is preferred.

Certifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Work Environment:

The Commissioning Lead-Mechanical/Piping will work in a dynamic and challenging environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful completion of the project. The individual will be required to work on-site at the project location in Basra, Iraq, and may be required to travel to other project sites as needed.
