Amazon Payment Services is regional expert in payment processing technology and solutions across major markets in the GCC & Levant countries, operating in UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.
The work involves launching existing Amazon products with suitable adaptations in the region, and building MENA first solutions which can be launched globally. We need tech leaders to define the tech strategy and drive the thought leadership to further expand Amazon’s presence and value in the region.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to build a new products starting with product definition. We want you to think big, be innovative, and build something from the ground up, and drive improvements on the existing products.
- Invest in building and growing a strong engineering team, from leaders to new hires, ensuring the right mix of talent, skills, and experience.
- Build the technical vision for the team, spanning architecture, components, dependencies, engineering process, and technology selection.
- Act as a leader on the team, proposing and planning key initiatives, owning critical goals, and aligning resources.
- Deliver results through product feature launches and technical improvements that move the needle for customers and business results.
- Maintain a high-standards technical operations culture, focused on building self-healing systems, solving problems quickly, extracting learnings, and continuously improving.
- Partner with peers and leaders across teams to deliver on cross-team initiatives.
- Work with product managers, technical program managers, and quality assurance leaders to raise the bar on product/market fit and technical quality.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Amman, JOR
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications
