Description
The clinical psychologist is responsible to develop relevant content for creating a workshop on mental health tailored to parents and caregivers (teachers, frontlines). Eligible candidates are licensed clinical psychologists with a background in providing support to children and parents.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive and structured outline for a 2-hour workshop including but not limited to these topics.
- Introduction to mental health (definition and statistics including children’s)
- Risk factors and protective factors of mental health among children and adolescents
- General warning signs (physical, emotional, cognitive, behavioral)
- Age-related mental health warning signs (early childhood, school-aged children, adolescence)
- Responding and supporting children in distress (active listening skills/ communication skills/ de-escalation skills).
- Impact of caregivers’ mental health on children
- How to engage in self-care for caregivers.
- Mental health professionals they can refer to (for children or themselves).
- Develop an elaborate content based on the approved outline, with appropriate activities, tailored to general and vulnerable populations. Content needs to be developed in both English and Arabic.
- Create informative and engaging visual and supporting documents (e.g: pamphlets, key messages, and any other relevant material) relevant to groups of different backgrounds.
- Provide guidance and resources to workshop facilitators to ensure they are equipped to deliver the content effectively.
- Develop evaluation tools/ surveys to gather feedback of participants on workshop.
Qualifications
- Licensed clinical psychologist, with experience working with children and caregivers.
- Fluent in English and Arabic
- Strong research skills, with ability to synthesize information, prioritize topics, and gather them into a comprehensive content for a workshop.
- Previous experience working with vulnerable populations is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in developing mental health content is preferred.
