Job Description

We are excited to share that one of our prestigious customers is looking for an experienced talent with strong project management, business strategy and operational background for the role of Head of Support Workstream who can drive the company's transformation programme. The central purpose of the role is to lead the support workstream for a specific Project. The project is focused on generating a communication capability including strategic communication, information, media, and psychological operation.
Key responsibilities are:
  • Leading the Support workstream team of 8 people to ensure that all support for the new organization is in place in order for the new organization to deliver against its mission.
  • Lead on developing the business strategy for support services and the ‘Operational Hub’.
  • Lead for project budgetary and cost control.
  • Lead on supervising and assuring the design of the new facility for Project and in time the new organization. This includes setting the requirement, contractor oversight, and contingency planning for an interim facility if required.
  • Lead on drafting policies, procedures, working practices for the provision of support services for the new organization, including finance, infrastructure, logistics, security, legal, health and safety and information management.
  • Lead on drafting and advising on outsourcing contracts where appropriate for support services such as facilities and equipment management, but not for the provision of those contracts which remains a client responsibility.
  • Lead on putting in place a performance measurement process to ensure that support is provided in accordance with agreed targets and KPIs.
  • Planning, advising, and implementing processes and procedures to support deployed teams nationally and internationally in a variety of challenging environments and working with a broad cross-section of government and non-government agencies.
  • Contributing to the capability development plan by providing advice on the support requirements for new equipment, including digital tools.
  • Supporting stakeholder management in identifying and building relationships and partnering arrangements with other organizations that will provide support services.
  • Supporting the Human Capital workstream in identifying training pathways for support to ensure that the new organization is properly supported.
  • Coaching and mentoring of project team members and for those recruited to staff the new organization.
  • Lead on business continuity planning.

RequirementsA successful candidate should possess the following experience and qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience (support-related discipline in civilian sector e.g. logistics, procurement, asset management).
  • International Consultancy experience in the Middle East working with international teams is preferable.
  • Experienced in drafting strategy, policy and working practices.
  • Experienced in planning, delivering of capability and support services.
  • Financial, infrastructure, commercial experience desirable.
