Our client, a leading civil and building construction company is looking for an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Lusail, Qatar. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization's IT infrastructure to ensure its efficient operation.
Responsibilities:
1. System Design and Implementation:
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to design and implement IT infrastructure solutions.
- Evaluate and select appropriate hardware and software components based on organizational needs and requirements.
- Install, configure, and deploy servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
2. Network Management:
- Design and manage the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring connectivity, security, and performance.
- Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
3. Server Administration:
- Administer and maintain servers, including operating system installation, configuration, and updates.
- Monitor server performance and ensure high availability.
- Implement backup and recovery strategies for critical data.
4. Security Implementation:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Configure firewalls and other security appliances.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
5. Virtualization and Cloud Computing:
- Deploy and manage virtualization technologies for servers and storage.
- Work with cloud platforms(OCI and Azure) to integrate cloud services into the organization's infrastructure.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other IT teams, such as development and support, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users and other IT staff.
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Coordinate and reporting to IT Manager
7. Monitoring and Optimization:
- Implement monitoring tools to track the performance of infrastructure components.
- Analyze system logs and performance data to identify and address potential issues.
- Optimize the infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
8. Project Management:
- Manage IT infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
