Registered Nurse - Anesthetics

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:

• Helping anesthetist with various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and local anesthesia.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia depth, and overall physiological status during surgical procedures.
• Manage patients' airways and ventilatory support as needed, ensuring adequate oxygenation and ventilation.
• Assist with the positioning of patients for surgery and ensure proper preparation and draping of surgical sites.
• Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring patients' recovery from anesthesia, managing pain, and addressing any post-operative complications.
• Collaborate with surgeons, operating room staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience for patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation of anesthesia care provided, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and patient assessments.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia principles, techniques, and pharmacology.
• Proficiency in monitoring equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
• Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Comply with the approved relevant departmental policies, processes and standard operating procedures in order to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a high quality and cost-effective service 
• Contribute in cost-efficient usage of all applicable resources to reduce wastage and unnecessary expense
• Ensure compliance to all relevant QHSSE management procedures and controls across the department so that AZF provides a safe, world class, secure and environmentally responsible service to customers, the public and its own people
• Motivate team members and contribute to the identification of opportunities to take part in change initiatives, programmes and projects that reflect international best practice and changes in the competitive environment. 
• Graduate of a recognized School of Nursing

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing 
• Minimum of [3] years of clinical experience in anesthesia nursing.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia principles, techniques, and pharmacology.
• Proficiency in monitoring equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
• Excellent critical thinking assessment, and communication skills.
• Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.
• ACLS or ALS or equivalent.
• IT skills.
• Proficient in written and spoken English
