The Senior Maintenance
Support Technician is responsible for the implementation and on-going
application of the Technical Institute maintenance regime. This is inclusive of
all training devices and equipment, used to support the delivery of all
engineering training.

Additionally, the
maintenance support team will be responsible for the implementation and
application of all Technical Institute tool control procedures and the ongoing
operation of tool stores. Ensuring a safe working environment is maintained, analogous
to an aviation maintenance environment.
This role will support
the Engineering Lead the execution of all performance management duties, this
includes the development and implementation of objectives and employee
development plans.
The Technical Institute
is located on Al Udeid Airbase.
Leading a team of
maintenance support technicians in application of an integrated maintenance
regime. Ensuring the availability of a wide range of training aids and devices
Supervising and undertaking
preventative and corrective maintenance services on all training aids and
equipment utilized within the engineering programs.
Supporting the Maintenance Support
Lead in ensuring monthly performance of Maintenance Support Personnel are complete.
Ensuring Site specific
consumables and materials are stored and correctly documented.
Acting as a point of contact
with instructional staff, ensuring all relevant information is readily
available and understood, regarding the safe operation of equipment.
Support the Maintenance Support
Lead with Operator / Maintainer Training.
When designated by the
Maintenance Support Lead, assume responsibilities of ‘Subject Matter Expert’ (SME)
on completion of Original Equipment Manufacturer training.
Leading by example, strictly
adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, ensuring safe operation within
the Technical Institute.
Support the Maintenance Support
Lead in the resolution of any issues affecting the usage of equipment and
peripherals.
Ensuring all work carried
out is documented in line with the Maintenance Management Policy.
Supporting the Maintenance
Support Team in stock control, quality, and safety auditing.
Identifying to the
Maintenance Support Lead any issues with tools, spares, and test equipment.
Recognised Engineering
Qualification (Level 3 or above)
A minimum of 5 years’
experience in an Engineering Environment.
Experience and knowledge
of Synthetic Training Equipment.
Mechanical Engineering knowledge
including Hydraulics.
Electrical and electronic
engineering, IT, and computing knowledge.
Proficient in the use of
the applicable Test equipment.
Able to work / operate at
height.
Demonstrate
excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrate
the ability to remain calm, tolerant, and professional in a stressful and
demanding environment.
Excellent
communication skills both written and verbal.
Demonstrate
good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
Experience of operating in both a Middle East
and Military environment would be preferred.
The following skills are desirable but not essential:
Portable Appliance
Testing Qualification.
Troubleshooting and
investigation of faults in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Computer Diagnostics.
