Are you interested in supporting administration and Transport Planning tasks in relation to aspects of the Travel Demand Management (TDM) measures for Qatar?

As a Senior Public Transport Planner, you will study and evaluate the impact of different transportation policies and measures which can enhance the optimization the effectiveness of current transportation network, integration, and sustainability of the transportation system in Qatar. You will have the opportunity to participate in the efforts of stakeholder coordination, collecting and analyzing travel supply and demand information needed to define the main objectives of TDM initiatives (Reduce, ReMode, Re-Time and Re-Mode). You will have the opportunity to contribute to by sharing your technical understanding of one or more areas of transport planning, for example, Local Transport Plans, Local Plans, route-based strategies, business case development, modelling, data analysis, and strategy/policy development. This is a great opportunity to participate in the assessment of major transportation policy and planning studies/projects that need to be carried out by the department and manage the implementation of these studies as needed. You will be involved in developing and assessing transport demand management scheme, conducting traffic analysis for proposed traffic management plans and the implementation of the comprehensive transport plan projects, including all modes of transport and parking. You will be responsible for developing and reviewing transport appraisals, providing concise and robust technical comments.


Here’s what you’ll need:


As a successful candidate you will have a degree in Transport Planning or a related field with experience in the administration or direct management of large, complex projects or operations related to TDM and/or public transportation with responsibility for planning and administration of multimodal projects.


You will have a working knowledge in the GCC of transport planning and TDM systems and governmental procedures alongside excellent analytical skills. You must be fluent in English - reading, writing, and speaking (required) and Arabic is desirable but not mandatory.
