Role Purpose
The Director of Physical Security Engineering will shape the security foundation of NEOM future. NEOM is building the future and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking project that will redefine urban living. A robust physical security foundation is essential.
We seek a visionary Director of Physical Security Engineering to lead a team in safeguarding NEOM's groundbreaking giga projects. In this critical role, the director will become an integrated advisor throughout the design phase of all NEOM assets, ensuring security is seamlessly woven into the fabric of each region specifically and NEOM in general.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Become an Integral Part of NEOM's Design Process:
- Actively lead the design reviews for all NEOM asset development projects, ensuring security considerations are addressed from conception.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate physical security measures seamlessly into the design of each asset.
- Lead Threat and Risk Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive threat and risk assessment methodology for NEOM assets.
- Identify potential security vulnerabilities and threats specific to each asset type within NEOM.
- Craft Security Strategies and Designs:
- Develop tailored security strategies for each NEOM asset, addressing identified threats and vulnerabilities.
- Design security measures to mitigate risks and prevent crime, leveraging best practices and innovative technologies.
- Crime Prevention, Detection & Mitigation:
- Foster a security-conscious environment by prioritizing crime prevention and detection measures during the design phase.
- Develop strategies to deter criminal activity and minimize potential losses.
- Develop and utilize technological data driven practical and forward looking tactical and strategical measures to predict, prevent and deter crime on operational assets.
- Security Standards Champion:
- Oversee the development, review, and continual enhancement of NEOM's physical security engineering standards.
- Ensure these standards align with international best practices and the evolving security landscape.
- Security Program Development:
- Play a key advisory role in the development of NEOM's overall physical security program.
- Guide the creation of policies, procedures, and protocols that ensure a comprehensive and effective security posture.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Build and manage a high-performing team of physical security engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Regions, Sectors, Projects) to ensure a holistic approach and seamless integration of physical security into NEOM's development.
BACKGROUND, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience:
- Relevant years of experience in leading engineering teams within complex and large-scale projects, preferably in a smart city or critical infrastructure environment. It is preferable to be focused on security engineering aspects.
- Experience working with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and security professionals.
- Proven track record of successfully integrating physical security into the design phase of major construction projects.
- In-depth knowledge of physical security best practices, technologies, and methodologies (e.g., artificial intelligence security solutions, facial recognition solutions, autonomous response and deployments, access control systems, long/short range surveillance solutions, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
- Expertise in conducting security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses, translating findings into actionable security plans.
- Familiarity with relevant international security standards of hospitality, critical infrastructure, and smart cities.
- Strong understanding of crime prevention principles and strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
