Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
The position is about developing the strategy, engagement, and activation of external stakeholders who drive or influence the policies that determine our ability to successfully secure patient’s access to medicines by coordinating internal and external voices in order to create the perfect storm at market for the team to succeed in their business objectives.

To achieve success, it is critical that the Head of Public Affairs:



Build a strong relationship with the government key organizations and officials and maintain high level of Commitment with KOL
Drive the policies that determine our ability to successfully secure patient’s access to medicines.
Observe new and upcoming regulations from the government authorities in general and the health authorities in particular.
Develop the strategy for the implementation and/or interactions with the authorities
Coordinate the activities related to the initiatives and projects Sanofi is planning with the relevant authorities
Setup the dashboards to follow up ongoing activities and projects
Recommend possible solutions based on the challenges Sanofi face in its activities in the country
Analyze present insights from the healthcare environment

Build a strong relationship with the government key organizations and officials and maintain high level of Commitment with KOL
It is important to have a good relationship with the local government authorities which helps to understand the regulations which will serve the purpose of complying with the regulations
Developing, executing, managing reputation plans and creating a positive environment

Drive the policies that determine our ability to successfully secure patient’s access to medicines



Lead, continuously adapt and execute policy strategy to accelerate diagnosis and create the market conditions for fast and broad access to Sanofi innovative treatments.
Develop innovative approaches and models for access and engage health authorities in thinking radically different in the management of patients.

Observe new and upcoming regulations from the government authorities in general and the health authorities. Develop the strategy for the implementation and/or interactions with the authorities



Not only the published regulations but also the upcoming changes which allows the company to prepare and adhere to the new regulations
Report the new regulations or the changes to get the support from the internal functions
Make sure the Public Affairs and the business strategies aligned with the government priorities and objectives

Coordinate the activities related to the initiatives and projects Sanofi is planning with the relevant authorities



Cooperate transversally with the internal stakeholders

Setup the dashboards to follow up ongoing activities and projects



Make sure to involve the relevant functions in any discussion or project for better alignment and support
Update the team about the progress and the success of projects

Recommend possible solutions based on the challenges Sanofi face in its activities in the country



Develop specific tools and materials for external engagement including policy narratives and test these with policy maker to ensure strong evidence-based argumentation.
Set up advisory boards with policy experts and payers when needed and build regional coalitions with industry partners to advance therapy area policy priorities.

Analyze present insights from the healthcare environment



Be able to update and adapt the plans and strategies based on the analysis in timely manner

Maintain Compliance



Abide by the requirements of the internal Code of Ethics including but not restricted to maintaining high professional standards of conduct in line with the Company procedure with a duty of care to the reputation of the Company

Takes personal accountability to use personal experience and knowledge, as well as the training and tools provided by Sanofi, to maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all ethics and governance relevant to the role (Sanofi Policies and Procedures and any relevant legal requirements) and demonstrate personal leadership in applying these to all work undertaken. Escalates any decisions, or seek the support of colleagues or management if personal knowledge and understanding is not at the level required to carry out any part of the role

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS



University degree, master degree is a plus
10+ years in the in strategic roles in Market Access, government affairs or policy related areas.
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Influential skills
Understanding of market dynamics
Experience of working with governmental bodies and authorities is a must
Adaptability and flexibility
