Job Description

The primary responsibility of the HSE officer is to manage the health and safety of SYSS facilities and it’s operation in Saudi Arabia and to oversee all facility related issues including the planned /advanced maintenance and upkeep of the premises and equipment.The successful candidate will work closely with SYSS team, actively engaging them in the management of HSE, ensuring they are aware of their statutory responsibilities and briefed on key issues related to the standards.The successful candidate will possess strong technical, collaborative and leadership qualities to give.SYSS team advice, direction and pivotal support to the SYSS operations. ResponsibilitiesMaintain a good level of knowledge and expertise in the areas of Health, Safety & Environment, to provide the SYSS Saudi Arabia team and sites with appropriate advice and support.Responsible for maintaining and facilitating continuous improvement in all aspects of the site's and operation’s Health, Safety and Environment management systems and standards, in line with Emerson's systems and policies.Proactively engage with SYSS teams to ensure ownership and accountability for HSE improvement and to develop and influence a positive Health & Safety culture within the organization through effective improvement activities.Ensure that all accidents and near miss events are promptly and thoroughly investigated, lessons learnt are shared and that accurate reports are completed and all relevant information entered into the Velocity reporting system.Prepare, monitor and analyse statistical data on Health, Safety and Environmental trends and share with employees and leadership team on a monthly basis. Continually review and update or create (where required) risk registers, policies and procedures to ensure successful control of Health, Safety & Environmental risks.Provide and advise on appropriate site training, conduct HSE inductions including general HSE training and attending HSE Committee meeting.Responsible for ensuring that sufficient First-Aiders, Fire Marshals are appointed and trained, based upon an assessment of the risks and requirements.To direct and support Assurance activities across Saudi SYSS , enabling it to deliver its strategy and targets, to improve its operational efficiency and performance, and ensure compliance with ISO 14001/45001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.Audit, monitor and review the implementation of Health and Safety policies, working practices, safety procedures for all respective operations. Ensure that regular audits, inspection, and safety tours take place within the required standards and provide guidance on corrective action where appropriate.Develop relationships with external HSE bodies and clients to ensure a collaborative working environment.support development of project HSE documentation such as HSE Plans Ensure Saudi SYSS facilities complies with all applicable laws and codes related to facilities including Emerson standards and local legislation Ensure Saudi SYSS facilities complies with all applicable laws and codes related to facilities including Emerson standards and local legislationResponsible for overseeing all facility related issues, maintenance, including the safe coordination of contractors (e.g. Catering, janitorial, building contractors, landscaping, gardening) and any critical equipment, preventative maintenance in line with recommended best practices by FM Global and ensuring records of maintenance actions are noted.Ensuring all activities within SYSS (routine or non-routine) to be covered in HIRA.Implementing of PTW prior of all non-routine activities within SYSS.QualificationsEngineering backgroundOSHA 50 Hours0-2 years experience in a related fieldISO45000 and ISO14000 is preferred
