We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.





Job Description

The HSE Specialist is responsible for ensuring HSE requirements on projects and keep liaison and interface between the Client and Contractor projects /HSE management.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES: 


  • Ensuring implementation of adequate HSE Management systems within the project sphere and Khobar office as applicable.
  • Coordinate site related training programs: continually ensure an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the organization, coordinate training programs for employees.
  • Ensure that Project teams are aware of relevant Health, Safety and Environmental statutory compliance requirements and have systems in place to ensure compliance.
  • Assist the project team in setting, monitoring & reporting on HSE objectives & targets.
  • Provide and/or present project HSE management reports (weekly, monthly) and on-going communication with project management regarding the operations performance.  
  • Ensure compliance with client related procedures and conditions of the project contract.
  • Support to source appropriate vendors for safety training and HSE infrastructure maintenance services.
  • Establish and deliver safety induction to the office & site team as relevant.
  • Lead incident investigation with site HSE personnel and Project Management, as required.
  • Ensure completion and facilitation of project internal and external audit requirements.
  • Provide feedback and coaching as a part of audit de-briefs, follow up non-conformance to effective closure with project personnel.
  • Lead/Assist in the development of the project specific HSE plans, policies & procedures.
  • Schedule and deliver HSE training as required and in accordance with procedures, standards and legislation.
  • Provide out of hours support for emergencies and events.
  • Conduct monthly HSE inspection of Khobar office and ensure the same in other offices of KSA.
  • Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental reporting, data collection and statistical analysis is presented to the Project Management team in a timely manner and on a monthly basis (or as required) and reported to the relevant country HSEQ Manager.
  • Others as updated by line manager time to time.

My profile

Qualifications: A degree in science / Industrial /Mechanical Engineering Or a degree in Environmental/OHS or Equivalent.


Affiliations:    Membership in recognized safety council; Membership in recognized environmental institution preferrable. 


Job-Specific Skills: (Example- Analytical skills, Auto CAD, STAAD.Pro software skills etc.)


  • Strong ability in Incident management.
  • Good proficiency in HSE inspection.
  • Ability to manage on site HSE challenges.
  • Ability to influence team towards safety culture.
  • Effective lecture communication.
  • Knowledge of all relevant Safety and Environmental Legislation & Standards and Compliance Management statutory requirements relating to local, Regional and International locations of operations.
  • Experience working with ISO integrated management systems.

Generic Skills: (Example -Written communication, Digital literacy).


    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Excellent English communication skills both verbal and written.
    • Excellent training and presentation skills.
    • Good computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power point).

Training/certifications:


  • NEBOSH IGC Or Grad IOSH Or Tech IOSH certification.
  • ISO 14001/45001 -IRCA Certified internal auditor course.

Preferrable:


  • BOSIET Training.
  • Saudi government safety classification.
  • NVQ OHS or equivalent.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety and / or Environment.
