Job Description

  • Design, develop, and implement inventory models within IMS (Inventory Management System) for network and service layers.
  • Write efficient, maintainable code, and unit test coverage.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, product owners, stakeholders and other business functions.
  • Following Agile Software Development methodology.
  • Support network discovery and reconciliation process for physical and logical inventory.
  • Support IMS Integration with BSS/OSS applications to streamline business processes and enable efficient service fulfilment and assurance.
  • Develop and maintain IMS customizations, including but not limited to custom adapters using product SDK, plugins, and scripts, custom webservices , APIs etc.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IMS-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyses requirements, provide technical solutions, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Responsible for BAU projects along with operations for IMS (L3/L2 Support).
  • Resolving technical problems logged by customers and escalated by L1 support
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to empower team members with critical insights and skills for efficient system development and maintenance.
  • Document technical designs, process flows, and development guidelines.
  • Deliver clear and insightful presentations to stakeholders, conveying technical information and project updates effectively.
  • Lead the production deployment of new enhancements, implementing rigorous testing and change management processes to maintain system reliability.

  • Supports work assignments in accordance with departmental or agency objectives; keep an eye on production standards and capabilities and ensures the maintenance of adequate quality and quantity of work.
  • Implement automation scripts and processes to streamline network operations, reducing manual effort and improving efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of IMS system to ensure that meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and performance targets.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for IMS system, including system architecture, codebase, APIs, and data structures.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for IMS system, including troubleshooting issues, applying updates, and ensuring system availability.

Job Purpose:


Inventory Management System SME will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions for Inventory Management on Oracle UIM and Discovery or any equivalent platform, ensuring efficient control and optimization of inventory levels within a company. The roles handling demand, delivery, and operations related tasks to meet customer demand, minimize costs, and maximize profitability.

Required Skills and qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle UIM developer or any Equivalent application, with a strong background in network discovery reconciliation, BSS integration, service assurance, and problem management integration.
  • In-depth knowledge of network inventory and service inventory modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with Inventory Product  API, SDK, and Web Services.
  • Proficient in Java, Java EE, XML, and WebLogic.
  • Familiarity with telecom network technologies (e.g., FTTx, IP VPN, SDH, OTN, GSM, LTE, 5G, VoIP, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of Inventory Management processes within a telecom environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Oracle certifications related to Oracle UIM or other Inventory products.
  • Experience working in cloud native solution.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA or Confluence.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools.
  • Should have hands-on knowledge in version control systems like Git.
  • Expertise in database design, SQL, and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
