Overview

We are currently looking for a Principal GIS Consultant to join the Geospatial Team in Land Development and be the technical lead for the GIS team. The role includes working alongside the Global Geospatial Community to discuss the technical elements of our in-house GIS solution based on Esri, FME and open-source technology and also day-to-day geospatial consultancy and project management where staff are hybrid working around the Middle-East, India and UK. You will be working with clients both internally and externally and identifying opportunities for both the in-house GIS solution and other where appropriate. You will be required to gather requirements, administer Esri technologies and solutions, presenting the solution and benefits to clients and working in agile scrum with a wider consultancy and development team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide Esri platform experience including:

  
  

  • Experience in ESRI ArcGIS server software administration including, applying software patches, upgrading server software, systems troubleshooting, etc.

    
    

  • Experience in configuring the Esri Enterprise GIS Platform or ArcGIS Online Platform, including components such as enterprise geodatabases, ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS.

    
    

  • Experience in creating and customising ESRI ArcGIS-based applications and APIs using the Esri Platform, including ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, Web App Builder, Experience Builder, and Ops Dashboards.

    
    

  • Experience in creating Esri Mobile Worker Applications including Survey 123, Field Maps, and Quick Capture, visualising results in maps and dashboards in ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online.

    
    

  • Experience of automating administrative functions via the Esri API for Python.

    
    

  • Experience in supporting the GIS professionals using of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online Platforms, including the preparation and delivery of analysis, demonstrations, workshops, training and documentation.

    
    

  • Experience in working alongside a team of GIS professionals, working with these professionals to deploy and integrate Esri GIS products and services that meet internal business requirements and processes.

    
    

  • Experience in additional ESRI applications such as ArcGIS Urban, etc.

    
    

• Take a leadership role on projects (managing clients, scope, budget, technical solution and people).

  
  

• On your projects develop staff so they become can lead key components of your projects.

  
  

• Share your knowledge and skills with the team and help develop junior staff.

  
  

• Develop and support GIS bid opportunities. Gathering client requirements and responding to tenders.

  
  

• Lead on large opportunities: articulating solutions, benefits and costs for support.

  
  

• Provide appropriate consultancy advice regarding GIS analysis, data creation and management to support projects and disciplines in a dynamic, deadline driven environment to project and national standards.

  
  

• Present GIS capability to stakeholders at all business levels.

  
  

Skills:

• Demonstrable leadership experience

  
  

• Ability to communicate the benefits of GIS and spatial data approaches to multiple stakeholders for business development and digital transformation.

  
  

• You have experience of bidding for GIS work and responding to client tenders.

  
  

• Experience in creating and reviewing automation process utilising FME Form & Flow and Python.

  
  

• Desirable to have software development exposure or experience including:

  
  

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript and client-side JavaScript frameworks.

    
    

  • Database development (SQL Server or PostGreSQL preferred).

    
    

  • Managing and customising services in Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS.
