JOB OBJECTIVE


The manager of QHSE is responsible for ensuring that all processes, products, and services meet the specified quality standards as per Thales QMS (Chorus) at the regional level (KSA-CA). He is responsible for driving a culture of safety at the KSA-CA regional level, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations, and protecting the health, safety, and environment of employees, customers, and the community. 


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Quality management system (Chorus): Managing the implementation of Thales QMS in the region, leading tailoring process as and when needed and assuring that the implementation aligns with industry quality standards and regulations.
  • Quality assurance: Overseeing and ensuring that all departmental activities comply with quality requirements and are in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Quality control: Implementing effective quality control measures to inspect and test products, processes, and services to identify any potential issues or areas of improvement. This involves setting up quality control mechanisms, defining quality control objectives, and conducting regular audits.
  • Continuous improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in quality processes, systems, and performance, and implementing appropriate corrective actions. This may involve performing root cause analysis, establishing improvement plans, and driving quality improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Documentation and reporting: Ensuring accurate documentation of all quality-related processes, procedures, standards, and audits. Also, providing regular reports to senior management on quality performance metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives.
  • Training and development: Facilitating and providing training on quality management practices, quality compliance, and continuous improvement techniques. This includes ensuring employees are equipped with the necessary tools, knowledge, and skills to maintain quality standards.
  • Customer satisfaction: Collaborating with bids and projects to understand customer needs and expectations, addressing any quality-related concerns or complaints, and implementing measures to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Regulatory compliance: Staying updated with relevant quality regulations and standards to ensure compliance. This may involve conducting internal audits, responding to external audits, and maintaining necessary certifications or accreditations.
  • HSE Strategy and Planning: Developing and implementing a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with company goals and industry regulations. This involves identifying HSE risks, setting targets, establishing policies, and creating action plans for continuous improvement.
  • HSE Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. This includes staying updated on new regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections, and providing guidance on compliance requirements.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Identifying potential hazards and evaluating associated risks across the organization. Conducting risk assessments, implementing risk mitigation measures, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the Region.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Overseeing investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Analyzing root causes, determining necessary corrective actions, and implementing preventive measures. Providing timely and accurate reporting of incidents to relevant stakeholders.
  • HSE Training and Awareness: Developing and delivering HSE training programs to ensure employees are informed about relevant policies, regulations, and safe work practices. Promoting awareness and engagement in HSE initiatives among all levels of the organization.
  • Emergency Response: Developing and maintaining emergency response plans. Conducting drills and exercises to test emergency procedures, coordinating with local authorities, and ensuring effective response capabilities in case of emergencies.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HSE performance across the Region. Monitoring and analyzing data related to HSE metrics, trends, and incidents. Preparing regular reports for senior management and relevant regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Protection: Implementing programs and initiatives to reduce the organization's environmental footprint. Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, promoting resource conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable practices.
  • Team management: Supervising and leading the quality and HSE teams, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance. Mentoring and coaching team members to ensure a high level of professionalism and competence within the department.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • 10-15 years of experience in Quality and/or HSE activities
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Able to lead a transformation and deliver under tight schedule
  • Knowledge of Thales QMS (Chorus) and Thales HSE management process

QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Professional Qualification in Quality and HSE
