Summary


The Regional Planning Support role’s main responsibility is the continued regional planning of NEOM working as part of the team. The role will understand the details of large-scale master plans, infrastructure design, implementation, modeling, estimating, and managing mega projects.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


We are seeking a motivated specialist to join our team on the largest giga project in the world. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future of urban design and development and will work closely with internal teams and external customers to deliver innovative and sustainably built environments.


The role requires providing support in the delivery of built work and contributing to the conception of creative, contextually responsive, and economically viable urban planning strategies and solutions. The candidate will be able to understand large-scale master plans with a focus on continuous improvement, attention to detail, and ensuring that all planning efforts align with the organization's overall objectives and goals.


The candidate responsibilities will include:


  • Interfacing with various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Supporting the delivery of built work and ensuring the project meets its milestones and deadlines
  • Working closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure successful delivery of network capacity on time
  • Ensuring all work is in line with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Contributing to the conception of creative and innovative urban design solutions, and helping set new standards in the field of urban and regional planning

The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in strategic planning, project management, or urban design. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Master’s degree in urban planning, urban design, or a related discipline, is preferred. Key Tasks


  • Support with hosting and managing all master plan data in NEOM covered within the Regional Plan
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and data necessary for the development of the master plan
  • Create, submit, and track the relevant Capex documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with best overall value
  • Deep dive on technical details and support problem resolution on a need basis
  • Communicate project progress, facilitate and escalate decision-making, and support requests
  • Support innovations and solutions on a need basis with strong attention to detail
  • Coordinate and monitor progress against the master plan, and adjust as necessary to ensure that the organization remains aligned with its goals and objectives and all deliverables are developed effectively
  • Participate in presentation meetings with NEOM internal clients and consultants
  • Provide technical design support in all urban planning development processes
  • Support with creative design solutions to stakeholders producing high-quality presentations
  • Support site analysis, brief analysis, and design concept presentations
  • Support the Project Director with managing the deliverables and contents developed by sub-contractors and coordination of all design operations
  • Manage contractors, external consultants, and key stakeholders
  • Support the development, coordination, and review of technical content and planning, on a day-to-day basis

Key Skills


  • 0-3 years of experience in the field and industry
  • Support technical planning reviews and propose planning solutions that meet both business needs and leverage global best practices
  • Knowledge of regional / master planning / urban design / landscape / architecture / infrastructure systems
  • The ability to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances whilst working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • A problem-solving mindset and the ability to think critically and strategically in the development and implementation of creative solutions to complex planning challenges
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to engage stakeholders and partners effectively to gather input and feedback
  • Ability to travel if required
  • Excellent working knowledge using planning and design software/tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project; AutoCAD, Revit, ESRI ArcGIS is an advantage
  • Knowledge of landscape design is beneficial
  • An understanding of the range of specializations and disciplines that interact in planning projects and processes and in particular, familiarity incorporating GIS within planning work
  • Ability to represent NEOM and Urban Planning at diverse levels, meetings, and events
