As a key member of our team, you will provide oversight and supervision of the construction of projects, ensuring that design documentation is safely and accurately implemented on-site and that the requirements of the construction contract are meticulously followed. In this dynamic role, you will perform the duties of the Resident Engineer on-site, managing and directing a team of skilled Engineers to oversee the construction of groundbreaking projects. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing technical and contractual advice for all aspects of the project, as well as resource management, ensuring the seamless delivery of projects that redefine the construction landscape. As a Resident Engineer, you will be the driving force behind overall project delivery and client liaison, building trusted relationships with the management team and the client's counterpart staff. Your ability to establish appropriate working relationships with contractors will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. With a unwavering commitment to safety, you will place an emphasis on safe construction practices (Beyond Zero) and maintain a high quality of construction. Leading by example, you will drive safe practices on-site, inspiring your team to prioritize safety above all else. By utilizing effective project management and control systems, you will regularly report on progress to the management team, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Your keen eye for detail and proactive approach will be vital in monitoring the progress of construction against the program, taking necessary steps to ensure that the program is achieved. You will also ensure that project quality control procedures are used for the supervision of construction works, continuously monitoring them for improvement and optimization. Here’s what you’ll need:
To excel in this role, you will be able to demonstrate your experience as a Resident Engineer or similar role for Bulk Utilities projects, ideally located in the Middle East region. A minimum of 15 years of post-graduate experience in site supervision and construction management of major projects is essential. Experience in supervising/managing pumping stations and sewage treatment plant projects, with all related civil works and MEP installations, including control works, will set you apart from the competition. As a Resident Engineer, you should hold a degree in Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university, with a Chartered Engineering qualification being a preferred asset. A full understanding of site supervision and construction management aspects for large and complex projects is a must, as is an enthusiasm for improving the safety performance of site operations. Your ability to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet project objectives will be crucial to your success. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline team are essential. Excellent communication and report writing skills, as well as good presentation skills in English, will round out your impressive skill set.
