Job Description

Job Title: Safety Officer (NEBOSH/OSHA)


Department: Health and Safety


Reports To: Health and Safety Manager


Job Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Officer with NEBOSH/OSHA qualifications and an engineering background. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing all safety measures in the workplace, ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation. The role is ideal for those ready to be trained in the inspection field, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety and health.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Safety Regulation Compliance:


    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Stay updated with current legislation and any changes in guidelines or laws affecting the industry.
  2. Risk Assessment and Management:


    • Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to minimize risks.
    • Implement preventive measures and recommend improvements to existing safety policies.
  3. Training and Development:


    • Conduct safety training sessions for employees and ensure that all workers understand and adhere to safety regulations.
    • Be willing to undergo further training in the inspection field to enhance knowledge and expertise.
  4. Incident Investigation and Reporting:


    • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes.
    • Prepare detailed reports on findings from investigations and suggest improvements to prevent future incidents.
  5. Emergency Response Planning:


    • Develop and implement emergency response plans.
    • Organize emergency drills and ensure all employees are aware of their roles in case of an emergency.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
  • Certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, or a similar recognized health and safety qualification.
  • Understanding and willingness to be trained in the inspection field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer in an industrial or construction setting is preferred.
