Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Business Development Manager drives business growth through managing business development activities to strategize approaches, technical pre-qualifications and quotations for the competitive Tender projects. Develops and grows company’s business development activities and revenue from new and existing market segments and channels. Recognizes new market segments and opportunities for business development, makes a calculation of returns and investment, and gains agreement for the investment, resources, and actions required for the developments. 

Job Responsibilities 1

  1. Manages the overall management of all strategic and operational tendering activities.
  2. Propose options to management regarding tender price/options margins to ensure that the management is supplied with market related information when deciding on setting competitive prices.
  3. Provides market feedback to the BDD/COO regarding pre-qualifications and bids.
  4. Suggests to BDD/COO, approaches to drive increased bids’ wining to achieve the Company`s ambitious growth.
  5. Prepare business development plans (and updates) identifying construction market trends in Qatar, and recommend short and long range plans, including opportunities that the organization should pursue.
  6. Meets with clients and Joint Venture Partners to develop a strong business relationship.
  7. Evaluates and qualifies prospective clients and tenders to determine the go, no go decision of the organization tender.
  8. Leads data analysis, reporting, and knowledge management to inform business development strategy and operations
  9. Support the BDD Business Development Director to explore new markets and enhance organization’s presence and market share.
  10. Conducts long-term and short-term strategic research that informs the growth strategy of the assigned Practices and/or GCC Regions.

Job Responsibilities 2

  1. Utilizes organization for programme management, preconstruction, cost engineering capabilities, Green initiatives, BIM, and other services.
  2. Develops client lists, prospects and leads in focus markets, develop and maintain appropriate client contacts to build a professional and ethical business relationship leading towards the sale of organization’s services.
  3. Participates in the development of proposals, presentations, and submittal materials.
  4. Facilitates coaching session and assists BDD personnel to ensure presentations are effective and work spirit high.
  5. Takes appropriate and timely actions to deliver client requirements prior to tender submissions in a manner that compliments operation’s personnel to ensure satisfied clients
  6. Develops and maintains business relationships with Architectural, Engineering, Project and Programme Management firms and Clients’ personnel in order to gain advanced knowledge of projects.
  7. Recognizes new market segments and opportunities for business development, makes a calculation of returns and investment, and gains agreement for the investment, resources, and actions required for the developments.
  8. Coordinates with relevant business units & other key departments to ensure timely completion & submission of pre-qualification document
  9. Develops and cultivates relationships with technical specialists, subject-matter experts, and professional writers to contribute to technical solution designs, reviews, and analysis of proposals and business development strategy within the practice.
