Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
- To supervise the plant reliability engineering optimization programs, through the improvement of the OST & OSR bad actors and minimizing the manufacturing cost that related to asset reliability and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Support the team of reliability engineers to ensure reliability projects, initiatives deliver improved productivity, costs and process safety performance. He is responsible for preparing the plant reliability Gaps. He is also responsible for providing the specialized technical support related to equipment reliability to the maintenance staff. Organization competency development and providing the right coaching and mentoring the staffs to ensure the quality deliverables towards the reliability improvement programs
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safety Critical Responsibilities:
- Inspect or test the reliability and integrity of Safety Critical Elements/Equipment.
- Approve changes to plant equipment/working procedures.
- Perform design / calculations and check/approve of information with safety critical equipment or used in further specifications of SCE.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform reliability analysis using appropriate reliability tools and identify improvement opportunities on existing critical and semi critical assets to meet their reliability targets in a cost effective manner.
- Responsible in analysing in reducing the mean time between repair through upgrading the reliability standard and practices in the site.
- Responsible for the reliability team input into the maintenance workflow schedule construction.
- Study the top bad actors on monthly basis / as per the frequency needed and propose elimination strategies.
- Develop and implement the Condition Monitoring (CM) programs.
- Lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team for critical equipment failures.
- Evaluate reliability KPIs annually.
- Assist reliability & integrity lead to set the required training & standards in reliability department.
- Review critical equipment specifications & process parameters.
- Lead/Participate in reliability improvement team meeting.
- Establishes, review and maintains planned and predictive maintenance programs for rotating equipment and sets parameters for amount and type of maintenance performed within the programs.
- Assess and have a plan developed for the necessary improvements & modification that will improve the overall equipment reliability (MTBF).
- Long-term management of RAMS / PM02 Models.
- Develop/Review Equipment Criticality Matrix for site assets.
Skills
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Qualifications:
- Degree in relevant Engineering or technical discipline (BS in Mechanical or equivalent)
Experience (Essential):
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in heavy chemical or petrochemical plants of which 3-4 years must be in relevant position in carrying out reliability engineering and plant maintenance services.
Function Specific:
- An extensive understanding of reliability/system engineering and its standards with emphasis on Critical Equipment’s dependability and lifecycle.
- An extensive level of working knowledge in reliability tools like Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and LOPA, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA),Weibull analysis, FTA and RBD.
- An extensive level of life cycle cost analysis.
- Having and in depth knowledge of managing changes to operational and maintenance processes incorporated into department/division objectives and goals.
- An extensive level of analytical and decision making and proactive thinking ability.
- Effective analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to formulate and communicate sound recommendations.
- Experience in Meridium or other reliability software.
