About the job STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of various structures, ensuring their safety, stability, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop cost-effective and innovative structural solutions.


Responsibilities:


  1. Design Development: Develop structural designs and calculations for buildings, bridges, dams, and other infrastructure projects using engineering software and tools.
  2. Analysis: Conduct structural analysis and simulations to assess the behavior and performance of different structural systems under various loading conditions.
  3. Code Compliance: Ensure that structural designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards, including seismic, wind, and environmental considerations.
  4. Material Selection: Select appropriate construction materials based on structural requirements, project specifications, and budget constraints.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
  6. Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the design, construction, and inspection phases to address structural challenges and resolve issues.
  7. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with structural designs and propose mitigation measures to ensure safety and reliability.
  8. Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports documenting structural designs, calculations, and analyses.
  9. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance reviews of structural drawings and documentation to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  10. Construction Oversight: Provide onsite support and oversight during the construction phase to ensure that structural elements are built according to design specifications and industry best practices.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of [8] years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural design and construction.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software and practices is mandatory.
