Non-verbal communication is the key to conveying a message.Non-verbal communication includes, facial expressions, body gestures and tone of voice. Verbal communication alone only accounts for seven percent of the message being said, while the non-verbal aspect makes up percent of understanding the message.

How you portray yourself from the outside will tell an employer or co-worker how comfortable or uncomfortable you are in the workplace. Having good diction, keeping a friendly tone of voice, and having an open body language will give an open and friendly impression for the workplace and for yourself.

Non-verbal communication is important as much as verbal communication is because it conveys meaning that is not explicitly implied with words. non-verbal communication is not just gestures, this includes facial expressions, the tone of the voice, this gives meaning to every nod, eye movement. This implies meaning whether by intention or not.
