It would be an official dress code which is globally accepted, type of job, location, in some cases traditional format could be helped or considered carefully before taking a final decisions on any dress code.

For me it's better and safer to go for plain corporate colors like navy blue, charcoal grey/grey, and black and white. You can never go wrong with black in all types of interviews. But of course you have to take into consideration they type of job you're going for an interview and as well the dress code and culture too.

but then I have been at places where it is more about to fit in, which means you ware clothing like the coworkers... if tan is the color than wear it ...
