personally i don't find a real reason that leads women to leave their work and career only health because with the work, she can be independant with strong personality, self satisfaction and more confidence. She can be a good member for the country when she applies her competencies.

also, she can leave the work when she want to relocate and change for a good opportunity

The most famous reason is that Women can't create balance between their family/kids and work so in most cases they quit their work

Second reason is searching for better career that fit with their qualification and abilities

Next is sexual harassment at work places

After that comes the unequal dealing between men and women in work and rewards.

Thanks for asking Dear sir.

In my opinion the answer would vary from society to society and even within a society from class to class. In my part of the world, the society is still not transformed to a level where gender has no role to play in an individuals available options. (I wonder if any society in world has trully reached that stage) So in my part of the world, women would most likely leave their career at some stage due to

1.       Having to give more time to family

2.       When asked to move (shift to another location/city)  by the employee, it still is not an accepted norm for a male spouse to move with his wife as much it is for a female spouse to do so with her husband

3.       Having to move with her husband

4.       Long period of absence due to maternity issues

5.       Social pressures

Hope it answers your query
