Job Description

Airport Agent Cargo



Date: 3 May 2024 City: Sharjah

Area of Responsibility



All Sharjah Aviation Services, GSE. Communication with airport authorities, customer airlines and other airport users as required.

Purpose of the Job



The purpose of this job is to carry out all passenger baggage / cargo handling duties in compliance with Sharjah Aviation Services, Customer airlines and the regulators procedures.

Key Responsibilities



• To ensure baggage build up / Aircraft loading and offloading is in compliance with Sharjah Aviation Services, Customer airline and the regulators procedures.
• To ensure all Airport Authority Emergency Orders are adhered to, as required.
• To perform palletizing, lashing and netting of all baggage and cargo as instructed.
• To ensure all container and non containerised baggage build up is safe and secure for transit.
• To load and unload customer baggage to aircraft as instructed by the Ramp Agent.
• To move, lift, arrange and store cargo in freight centre as instructed.
• To report to the Ramp Agent / Baggage Agent any allocated SAS GSE that is unserviceable immediately.
• To assist airport authorities in X-ray checking of passenger baggage and cargo including attaching the relevant security tags as requested.
• Assist passengers with their baggage from Departure area up to check –in.
• To report to Ramp Agent / Baggage Agent any cargo or baggage that is found open / leaking or damaged before offloading or loading duties begins.
• To ensure each baggage tag is read carefully, is matched and loaded into the correct ULD / BCT or aircraft hold.
• To report to the loading supervisor any damages found in the cargo holds of the aircraft.
• To adhere to at all times, all uniform and grooming standards as set by Sharjah Aviation Services.
• To perform any other duties as appropriate in support of the business activities of SAS.

• High School Diploma

Experience



• At least 1 year experience in related field
