BIM Modellers (MEP, Architecture, and ICT specialisms) - 3 to 6 months mission - Dubai

1 Mission

We are searching for BIM (Building Information Modeling) Modelers specializing in the following trades:

1. MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems,
2. Architecture,
3. ICT

As a BIM Modeler in any of the specialisms mentioned above, your primary responsibility will be to create accurate 3D models and virtual representations of MEP/Archi/ICT systems for various construction projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective coordination, clash detection, and visualization of these systems within the overall building design.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE IS FOR A MAXIMUM OF 6 MONTHS CONTRACT

2 Line and Staff Relations

This role will work under the direction of the BIM Manager. He/She has relation with:

• Architects and Engineers of a specific discipline (MEP, Structural, Architecture, ICT)
• All the external entities necessary to his/her job execution.

3 Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling: Utilize BIM software (Revit) to create detailed 3D models of MEP/Archi/ICT systems based on project specifications, design drawings, and industry standards.
• Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to integrate MEP/Archi/ICT systems seamlessly within the overall building design. Ensure proper coordination and clash detection between these systems and other building components to minimize conflicts and improve efficiency.
• Documentation: Generate accurate 2D drawings, technical diagrams, and schedules based on the 3D models created. Prepare detailed drawings and fabrication drawings for MEP/Archi/ICT systems, including ductwork, piping, electrical layouts, and equipment.
• Systems Analysis: Perform comprehensive analysis and simulation of MEP/Archi/ICT systems, such as load calculations, energy analysis, and fluid flow simulations. Identify potential design issues or inefficiencies and propose appropriate solutions.
• Collaboration: Actively participate in multidisciplinary project meetings and provide valuable input related to these systems. Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure effective communication, resolve conflicts, and facilitate decision-making processes.
• Standards Compliance: Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations while creating and documenting MEP/Archi/ICT models. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in BIM technology, software, and industry best practices.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on the created models and drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements. Identify and rectify any errors or discrepancies promptly.
• Project Support: Provide technical support to project teams during the construction phase, including assisting with on-site coordination, reviewing contractor submittals, and resolving design-related queries.

4 Profile Specifications – Minimum Requirements

• 5-7 years experience in the field of Engineering drafting.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, ICT or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
• Strong proficiency in BIM software, such as Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks.
• For MEP Modelers: Excellent knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
• Solid understanding of construction practices, building systems, and MEP installation techniques.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling, visualization, and coordination techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design clashes and conflicts.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within project timelines.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
