Description
JOB Summary
To perform a wide range of technical services which includes inspection, maintenance, overhauling, troubleshooting and Installation & commissioning of Canrig Top drives, Roughnecks, and Catwalks and associated equipment at customer's domestic and international locations and instructs and monitors customer's rig crew in proper set up, operation and removal of same to ensure safe and efficient use of equipment in onshore and offshore drilling.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Expertise: Serve as the leading expert in the inspection, maintenance, and overhaul of Canrig drilling equipment, including top drives, roughnecks, and catwalks. Apply in-depth knowledge to solve complex technical problems, ensuring equipment operates at peak performance.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systems in drilling equipment, providing timely and cost-effective solutions.

Installation and Commissioning: Lead the installation and commissioning of drilling equipment at operational sites, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.

Maintenance and Overhaul: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including complete overhauls of drilling equipment, to prevent downtime and extend equipment life.

Paperwork and Documentation: Ensure meticulous completion of all necessary paperwork, including service reports, inspection forms, maintenance records, and compliance documents.

Training and Mentoring: Mentor and train junior technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to uplift the overall skill level within the team.
·
Safety Leadership: Champion a culture of safety by adhering to and promoting all safety regulations and guidelines. Conduct safety briefings and drills as required.

Customer Service: Provide exemplary customer service through clear communication, professional demeanor, and technical support. Work closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
· Support and participate on achieving organizational QHSE objectives.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications / SKILLS
· 5-7 years of related experience required
· Technical training in the electrical / hydraulic field would be an asset
· High School diploma
· EIT/MIT Technical Certification preferred
· Preference will be given to those with Tesco/Canrig related equipment experience
· Ability to read, comprehend and write in English.
Preferred Qualifications
· Ability to effectively present technical information, to colleagues, customers and vendors.
· Preferably +7 years "drilling rig experience"
· This position requires a team player that is comfortable operating in remote locations
· Experience will include experience operating and repairing electrical and/or hydraulic equipment

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Strength and Stamina : Capability to lift heavy objects, often over 50 pounds, and endure prolonged physical activity in 12+ hour shifts.

Mobility and Environmental Adaptability : Ability to climb, bend, and work in various outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures and exposure to noise and vibration.

Safety Gear Compliance : Consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots, along with readiness for emergency situations.

Visual and Auditory Acuity : Clear vision and good hearing are essential for operating machinery safely and responding to hazards.
