Job Description
The Chemist’s responsibilities include analysis and reporting of tea samples, testing of caffeine contents, etc and co-ordinated
with external laboratory for testing parameters.
Responsibility 1: Instrument
1. Operation and handling of instruments such as pH meter, HPLC, AAS, IR moisture analyzer, Muffle furnace,
Oven, incubator etc.
2. Upkeeping of equipment’s related to AMC, calibration and maintenance.
3. Upkeeping of instrument records, breakdown and spare parts records.
Responsibility 2: Documentation
1. Knowledge of Good laboratory practices, preparation of SOP’s, preparation of test data sheets,
2. Knowledge of laboratory safety related to handling, storage and disposal of chemicals,
3. Issuance of certificate of analysis.
4. Inventory management related to chemicals, glassware and spare parts.
Responsibility 3: Testing
1. Analysis and reporting of tea samples as per SOP,
2. Testing of caffeine content using HPLC, moisture analysis, Ash content, heavy metals using AAS, etc.
3. Analysis of microbial tests such as Anaerobic count, yeast and Molds, coliforms and E.Coli. ATP swab test.
4. Coordination with external laboratory for testing parameters such as Pesticide residue, water analysis, swab
analysis, and any other tests required.
RequirementsCriteria:
Nationality ANY
Age Bracket Preferably between 25 - 35 years old
Gender MALE/ FEMALE
Educational Attainment BSc or MSc in chemistry/Food chemistry.
No. Years of Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in reputed industry preferably food industry
Certifications/ Trainings Needed
Preferably knowledge in caffeine content, heavy metals analysis, moisture analysis. Proficient in
MS Office programs: MS Word and MS Excel.
Behavioral Qualities/Traits
Should be flexible enough to Adjust to dynamics of Production Environment in FMCG. With
confidence to respond positively when under pressure. Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Team-working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels.
