Job Description
The Communications Specialist will sit within the Client's Drainage Project Department together with the other Stantec staff assigned to this PMC project and play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication between internal and external stakeholders.
They are responsible for supporting both external and internal communications, promoting a positive public image, and controlling the dissemination of information on behalf of the department in collaboration with other members of the Dubai Municipality team responsible for
• Development and implementation of communication strategies to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.
• Managing various communication channels, including press releases, newsletters, and digital platforms.
Amongst the responsibilities below the Communications Specialist will be expected to present internal and external communication strategies to senior business internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop Effective Communication Strategies:
○ Create and implement communication plans that align with the departments goals.
○ Craft strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
2. Manage Internal Communications:
○ Prepare internal memos, newsletters, presentations and other communication materials.
○ Foster transparent and efficient communication among employees.
3. Draft Content for Mass Media and Company Website:
○ Write press releases, articles, and other materials for external distribution.
○ Ensure consistent messaging across various platforms.
4. Liaise with Media and Handle Requests:
○ Interact with journalists, respond to inquiries, and arrange interviews.
○ Prepare statements and manage media relations.
5. Build Relationships with Advocates and Key Stakeholders:
○ Cultivate connections with influencers, industry experts, and community leaders.
○ Collaborate with external parties to promote the organization's message.
6. Assist in Crisis Management:
○ Handle damage control during negative publicity situations.
○ Address disputes with the public or external vendors.


Qualifications
Requirements and Skills:
● Proven Experience as a Communications Specialist:
○ Familiarity with corporate communications practices.
○ Minimum of 5-8 years experience in Corporate Communications
○ Project management skills.
● Web Design and Content Production Experience (a Plus):
○ Ability to create engaging content for digital platforms.
● Copywriting and Editing Skills:
○ Craft compelling narratives and messages.
● Solid Understanding of Project Management Principles:
○ Organize and execute communication initiatives effectively.
● Proficiency in MS Office:
○ Familiarity with photo and video-editing software is advantageous.
● Excellent Communication (Oral and Written) and Presentation Skills:
○ Ability to convey information clearly and persuasively.
● Outstanding Organizational and Planning Abilities:
○ Manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
● Proficient Command of English and Arabic:
○ Strong language skills are essential.
