ROLE SUMMARY


Lead, execute and support the VP of Corporate Development with the identification, assessment, conceptualization, negotiation, execution and management of new business development/ partnerships opportunities, the strategy development and tracking related to new growth avenues for Majid Al Futtaim beyond the core business (e.g. digital capabilities), and implementation and synergy realization oversight


ROLE PROFILE


  • Lead the team in developing, refreshing, and overseeing proper execution of strategies related to new growth areas, and in communicating and aligning the strategies with the operating companies and relevant stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strong industry knowledge in new areas of focus for Majid Al Futtaim; have a strong understanding of global as well as industry specific trends related to Majid Al Futtaim businesses and focus industries/ geographies
  • Manage the delivery of insightful analyses on new opportunities based on industry/ market trends and competitive dynamics to identify threats and improvement/ expansion areas
  • Actively participate in content development and organization of corporate summits and other group wide strategy workshops
  • Following the development of expansion/ growth strategies, focus on securing strategic partnerships for the core and adjacent businesses as well as new growth avenues identified
  • Own and manage end-end business development agreements/ partnerships that drive value across Business Units including identifying, creating, leading, structuring, negotiating, and implementing such agreements
  • Oversee sourcing of new business development opportunities including meeting with management and entrepreneurs, attending relevant conferences, networking events, and calling on new prospects
  • Identify potential synergy opportunities, business and integration risks between the related Operating Companies and support in the execution of growth initiatives

REQUIREMENTS


  • 10 to 15 years of cumulative professional experience
  • 5-10 years of experience with demonstrated career progression in Corporate Development, Strategic Business Development, Tier-1 Management Consulting or Venture Capital and Private Equity, in relevant industries
  • Bachelor’s and master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a highly reputable university with a strong academic record. MBA is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and capable team
  • Hardworking, energetic, charismatic, and a self-starter eager to drive work independently, while able to effectively work with multi-functional teams
  • Ability to take initiative and have a strong sense of ownership over shaping and executing upon our strategy and prioritized initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills, fluency in performing and driving rigorous quantitative analyses, and experience with financial/ accounting and key operational metrics
  • High aptitude to quickly manage new teams and large-scale projects, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail
