Job Description

Position Overview 


The Technical Writer creates, edits, and captures compelling and concise text. Component pieces include resumes, project profiles, in-depth project histories; technical approaches; articles; social media posts. Specific documents the Technical Writer contributes include resumes, proposals, and website content. Adherence to deadlines, both internal and client-driven, is critical. Technical writers must be able to work closely with the Company’s project personnel and should have a strong interview and research abilities, in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills. Technical writers must also work as part of an integrated team, take direction from various sources, and set and maintain quality standards for the Company’s text. Availability to work overtime as assignments demand is required.


General Description of Role and Responsibilities: 


  • Implement the Company’s Style Guide in all written materials.  


  • Work closely with pursuit teams to review content efficiently and effectively and convert materials into the Company’s format.  


  • Convert candidate resumes into the Company’s format for use in proposals.


  • It may require interaction with new hires and potential employees.  


  • Able to listen to client’s career goals and professional situations to write/edit professional resumes  


  • Provide a professional level resume reformatting, grammatical corrections, and targeted content, ensuring accuracy and strategic phrasing of responsibilities and accomplishments.  


  • Develop high-quality Project Description text for the Company’s projects and circulate it for review and approval by appropriate staff.  


  • Edit, proofread, and organize technical content in a coherent and structured manner, free from grammatical errors.  


  • Input data and improve the text in the Deltek Vision CRM database.  


  • Developed end-user product documentation in an agile environment while meeting 100% of team deadlines.  


  • Participate in process improvement teams.



Requirements

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 


  • B.A. in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or A/E/C-related (minimum requirement).  


  • Preferably someone with experience in preparing resumes, project descriptions, articles, press releases, and/or proposals, preferably in the A/E/C industry. 


  • However, we are open to considering bright, fresh graduates who have the right skills and are passionate about learning and acquiring new skills.  


  • Comfortable working in various word processing and layout environments, including Adobe and Microsoft Office.  


  • Ability to work as a team with an array of marketing and technical professionals in a deadline-driven environment.  


  • Exceptional written communication skills, including writing, editing, and proofreading. 


  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail is a must.  Ability to work under strict deadlines.
