JOB DESCRIPTION:
- As the General Manager of our Car Rental division, you will be
responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, from daily operations
to strategic planning.
- The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of relevant experience in the
car rental and leasing industry and possess excellent leadership and management
skills and will be responsible for managing all aspects of the rental car business,
including customer service, fleet management, operations, and profitability.
- Primary objective will be to drive business growth, deliver exceptional
customer experiences, and ensure efficient and effective operations.
KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE
ROLE:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the rental car and leasing
business, including customer service, fleet management, reservations, and
rental agreements.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth, increase
market share, and maximize revenue and profitability.
- Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service by maintaining high
service standards, addressing customer concerns, and fostering a
customer-centric culture.
- Manage and motivate a team of employees, including hiring, training, and
performance evaluations.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor
activities to identify business opportunities and develop effective marketing
and promotional initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze customer feedback to make informed business
decisions.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies, rental policies, and
procedures to maximize revenue and control costs.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of rental car agents
and support staff, providing coaching and guidance to enhance their skills and
productivity.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key corporate clients and
other stakeholders to drive business partnerships and secure long-term
contracts.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business
performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, rental car industry
standards, and internal policies and procedures.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and
operational efficiency through process enhancements and technology adoption.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, emerging trends, and best
practices in the car rental industry, incorporating them into business
strategies and operations.
- Manage the rental/lease car fleet, including vehicle acquisition,
maintenance, cleaning, and disposal, to ensure availability, safety, and
optimal utilization.
- Create and implement marketing and promotional strategies to attract new
customers and retain existing ones.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the
performance and progress of the company.
- Stay updated with industry developments and technological advancements
to drive innovation and improve service offerings.
- Drive Digitalization and automation to improve customer satisfaction and
process efficiencies.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the same field, with at least 5 years
of experience in the same position.
- University degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
- Excellent managerial and leadership skills to lead effectively and
motivate a team and manage rental car operations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
interact with customers, employees, and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address business
challenges, customer issues, and operational inefficiencies.
- Ethical mindset with a commitment to maintaining high standards of
professionalism and integrity.
- In-depth knowledge of the rental car industry, including market trends,
customer expectations, and operational best practices.
- Experience in business development, sales, and marketing within the
rental car industry.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting,
and financial analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks,
manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and
legal obligations related to the rental car business.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to use
relevant software and tools.
- Proficient in using car rental software and other relevant technology.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight
deadlines.
