QA/QC Manager

MISSIONS:

The QA/QC Manager will oversee the quality assurance and quality control processes for a significant rail project. The QA/QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet the project's quality standards, industry regulations, and client requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in rail construction projects, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team of quality professionals effectively. The QA/QC Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and work closely with other project team members to ensure the successful completion of the rail project within quality standards and timelines.

• Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance and quality control plans for the rail project.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations throughout the construction process.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to establish quality requirements and procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities to identify non-conformances and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate and oversee testing and inspection activities, including materials testing, weld inspections, and non-destructive testing.
• Review and approve quality documentation, including inspection reports, test plans, and quality records.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
• Provide training and guidance to project personnel on quality requirements, procedures, and best practices.
• Monitor subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that they adhere to project quality requirements.
• Prepare quality performance reports and present findings to project stakeholders as required.

PROFILES:

• The Discipline Lead, Manager or Expert shall have a technical / engineering related university degree, preferably a Master's degree.
• With not less than Fifteen (15) years’ experience in Railway Projects with minimum of Ten (10) years’ of Design and construction experience in Rail Projects.
• The Discipline Lead, Manager or Expert shall have held the same position for at least one project of a similar size. Bridges /Structural lead must hold chartership status (C. Eng, PE, P.Eng. or equivalent).
• Strong understanding QA/QC principles tools & techniques
• Ability to give sound knowledgeable advice on matters of Quality, Assurance and Quality Control to both Design-Build Contractors, subconsultant and PMC Staff
• Excellent English language, verbal, reading and writing skills.
• Experience in auditing (Minimum Internal ISO 9001 Internal Auditor)
