Job Description
Scope:
Perform Quality Control operations in the machine shop, focusing on Dimensional, NDE (Non-Destructive Examination), and visual inspections. Manage Non-Conformity control and rework processes to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide initial approval for machined castings and conduct measurements using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine). Perform NDE (MT/PT) inspections on machined castings according to specifications. Review and verify NDE/Hydro and Dimensional reports for machined castings. Witness NDE, Hydro, and Dimensional inspection activities at Machining Supplier facilities on an audit basis. Coordinate welding repair and review welding records for machined castings in the machine shop. Upload Machined castings QC documentation to customer servers as required. Supervise welding repair processes on machined castings. Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions for Customer Non-Conformance Reports (NCR). Manage storage and retention of Machined castings dimensional reports. Ensure compliance with packing requirements specified in customer purchase orders. Coordinate NCR and rejection processes. Implement continuous improvements suggested by the machine shop team. Inspect outsourced castings against specifications.
Desired Candidate Profile
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in valve casting machining inspection. ASNT Level II certification in MT/PT with proficiency in NDE equipment and methods. Comprehensive understanding of quality control principles, visual inspection (MSS SP 55), and dimensional inspection of castings. Preferable experience in CMM inspection. Proficiency in reading and interpreting machining casting drawings, including GD&T.
