About the job Senior HR Generalist

Responsibilities:


  • Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Provide strategic HR guidance and support to management and leadership teams.
    • Analyze and interpret UAE labor laws and regulations, proactively identifying potential risks and recommending solutions.
    • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the construction, development, and contracting industry.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding:
    • Lead the recruitment process for various roles, sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates with specific industry knowledge and skills.
    • Conduct in-depth reference checks and background verifications.
    • Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires, ensuring compliance with all legal and project requirements.
  • Payroll & Benefits Administration:
    • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of payroll for all employees, including complex overtime calculations and allowances specific to the construction industry.
    • Manage employee benefits administration, including enrollment, claims, and communication of policies relevant to the sector.
    • Liaise with insurance providers and third-party vendors related to employee benefits.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance:
    • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR matters, fostering positive and productive relationships.
    • Handle employee inquiries and concerns professionally and effectively, resolving issues in line with company policies and UAE labor laws.
    • Maintain accurate and thorough employee records and documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Visa Processing & Immigration:
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of visa and immigration processes related to the construction, development, and contracting industry.
    • Lead the processing of work visas for new hires, including liaising with government authorities and ensuring adherence to all visa requirements.
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in UAE visa and labor laws, proactively informing management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Represent the HR department in meetings and committees, advocating for employee interests and company compliance.
    • Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, particularly relevant to the construction, development, and contracting industry.
    • Conduct HR audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and streamline processes.

Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred (Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience may be considered).
  • Minimum 6+ years of proven experience as a Senior HR Generalist in the construction, development, or contracting industry.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding and practical application of UAE labor laws and regulations, particularly those specific to the construction, development, and contracting sector.
  • Extensive experience with recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and visa processing in the construction industry.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex HR issues.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in HR software and systems, including industry-specific HR solutions for construction companies.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach with a passion for building strong relationships within the organization.
