Job Description

Role SummaryOverall responsibility for the strategic HR compliance vision, and day to day activities of Payroll Compliance, including but not limited to ensuring all global Payroll processes and procedures are aligned to the strategic direction and are fully aligned with the financial controls.Responsibilities
  • Lead the Global Payroll and Compliance teams.
  • End-to-end accountability for leading and managing Payroll and Compliance procedure development, processes, and execution.
  • Lead pivotal Payroll and Compliance projects and initiatives at a global level.
  • Drive maturity of Payroll processes through automation, team support as well as applying a continuous improvement mindset. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that support new initiatives or enhance current procedures and business processes including appropriate supporting research, analytics, and recommendations.
  • Ensure there is a clear understanding of and method for managing regulation & compliance obligations and commitments to support the Global HR team with its accountabilities & responsibilities to this effect.
  • Working with Regional HR Management, Corporate Payroll and Compliance teams (as well as other peers within the Corporate HR department) to ensure practices are simple to implement and align to both global and local governance, regulatory requirements, and Corporate guidance.
  • Building case-based optimisation proposals to ensure business continuity, uncompromised compliance, financial internal controls, and audit standards (including but not limited to SOX compliance).
  • Responsible for identifying changes in market trends in areas of Payroll and Compliance.
  • Creating engaging communication materials to educate leaders and employees about Payroll procedures and initiatives, ensuring that messaging is consistent and embedded within regional/global procedures and processes.
  • Responsible for provision of payroll facilities to all employees globally including the management and development of the team with multiple layers of controls, including remote locations.
  • Responsible for the management of shadow payroll and host country taxes for those under a tax protection scheme.
  • Partner with Payroll brokers and providers to ensure successful renewals of current service agreements and ensure the renewals are done timely and in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Partner with Tax advisors (in alignment with internal tax peers) to ensure successful quality evaluation and renewal of current service agreements (income tax related) in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Support our expansion into new markets by providing current market data in relation to Payroll requirements and Compliance requirements as well as driving the set-up of new payroll set up/integrations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations are met per regulations.
  • Support the regional offices’ HR Management within Payroll and Compliance matters.
  • Develop strategies and update departmental policies and procedures to streamline department job processes and improve cost savings.
  • Responsible for all audits pertaining to HR (including but not limited to SOX audits, quarterly and annual reports, etc.).
  • Ensure regular information is provided to internal and external auditors as/when requested.
  • Responsible to develop a robust schedule of internal HR audits to identify gaps and areas of improvement (Trust and Verify).
  • Responsible for leading and/or performing internal quality assurance Sox and Financial control audits on Regional and Corporate payroll & administration processes, and raising improvement opportunities and outcomes to SVP HR, following through with adjustments.
  • Responsible for the consolidation and analysis of audit results and provision of results to peers within HR.
  • Conduct periodic documented performance evaluations and guidance of relevant development opportunities for department personnel.
  • Develop and implement strategic Payroll goals to the wider HR function.
  • Provide recommendations regarding specific projects/areas within remit of role when raised by management.
  • Accountable for all actions within area of influence.
  • Support Company initiatives throughout the Company.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in an HR related subject.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite Applications.
  • Proficiency in English is a must; additional languages are a strong asset.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Significant HR Management experience, including experience in a managerial role.
  • Solid experience in Payroll, Compliance, Tax or Finance management preferably in an international setting and in complex organisations.
  • Experience of policy and management of international assignments.
  • Project management experience.
  • Senior stakeholder management experience.
  • Must be process driven and apply a continuous improvement mindset
  • Knowledge of employment tax in various domains.
  • Proven significant experience in payroll processes, globally.
  • Proven strategic focus with ability to translate into practical implementation.
  • Experience in Compliance processes and methodologies.
